Our smallest Education project (so far)!

SDA were asked (following a recommendation) to look at the remodel and refurbishment of the Nursery spaces at Fulneck School, an Independent School in Pudsey. The series of teaching spaces are linked by a wide circulation area and supported by pupil toilets and staff space, which had evolved over time and were in need of a revamp.

We approached the project in the same way as all designs; by establishing the brief and budget and illustrating the design to the client through 3D images of the proposals.

The design maximises the natural daylight in the teaching rooms and rationalizes ancillary storage to create a flexible area. The formerly dark and dated toilet facilities are given a new lease of life to encourage early-years use, and the staff space contains a kitchenette and low-level work surface to support pupil use.

Bespoke fitted furniture and storage combined with bright colours and graphics make this a fun space to begin learning
