Bradford Grammar School

Continuing a long-term relationship with the school, SDA were approached to review their sports facilities with the aim of providing a wider range of co-educational sports.
Through a series of feasibility studies, we identified that a sports enclosure to the existing netball and tennis courts would offer extended weather protected play, and also offer spectator seating and viewing.
The proposal provides a national standard one and a half hockey pitches with floodlighting and two new netball courts.
The concept provides a simple large span structure, clad with louvred timber and perforated metal screens to reduce rain ingress and to maintain ventilation.
The material treatment of the building is proposed to create a unique sporting environment and focal point for the school.
The project was completed in April 2019.
