88m Group, Park Square, Leeds
28 Park Square is a Grade II Listed Georgian building. Purchased by 88m Group, SDA Architects were appointed to refurbish the interior of the property to change it from an office building into luxury head office with entertainment facility for client engagement and residential space.
It was important that the essence and history of the Georgian listed building was protected and maintained whilst re-invigorating the building to create a space deserving of the buildings history. SDA Architects worked closely with Leeds City Council’s Conservation team to provide innovative solutions which would be sympathetic to the buildings history. The development features a central reception, office, Chairman’s office, boardroom, penthouse, penthouse master bedroom, gymnasium and entertainment room.
During restoration an old Victorian cooker was discovered behind a boxed-in fire place. The ‘Trident’ range was built by local ironmongers, J&H Smith in the early part of the 20th century. The feature was retained to pay homage to the north’s industrial heritage. This feature resides in the cinema and entertainment room and is underneath a plaque suitably named, “A Hidden Gem.”
