Leeds Architecture Awards – Bramley War Memorial

We’re really proud of our Senior Designer, Warren Horner, who has won an award for his work for The Bramley War Memorial. The award was presented to Warren, and Architect John Thorp at the Leeds Architecture Awards 2016, a celebration of excellence in places and spaces.

Warren undertook the work privately as Project Architect, working for The Friends of Bramley War Memorial. The memorial is inscribed with 741 names of fallen soldiers from World War I and World War II from the areas of Bramley, Rodley and Stanningley.

Warren says, “It was a challenging project because of its sensitive nature, but it was worthwhile. I’m really pleased I had the honour to be involved with it.”

The John Thorp Award was presented in the Public Realm and Landscape Design category. Over 80 projects were nominated at the Leeds Architecture Awards, with only 30 projects shortlisted for an award.
